Pleshette was an alumni of The Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theater and worked with Sanford Meisner. With more than 100 credits, she started her career as an actor on stage. One of her most well-known roles was the character of Emily Hartley in the TV series The Bob Newhart Show from 1972 to 1978. Pleshette was Christine Broderick's character in Nightingales (1989). From 1994 until 1995, she played Jackie Hansen's character on The Boys Are Back. Pleshette was a regular on the T.V. show Suzanne Pleshette. Her characters included Maggie Briggs (Good Morning, Miami), 8 Simple Rules and Will & Grace. She also appeared in The Geisha Boy, and The Birds. An Annie Award was presented to Pleshette for her performance in The Lion King II - Simba's Pride. Pleshette was awarded two Golden Globe Awards nominations.
